Beliefs
- The pattern I keep chasingTake something operators
do on paper or in their heads — make it legible, provable, and portable.
- Prototype the specThe prototype didn’t replace
design judgment — it moved the judgment earlier, to where it was cheap.
- Kill more than you buildThe hardest design work is
subtraction — deprecating features customers technically “use” takes evidence, not taste.
- Design downstream as a contractDownstream surfaces
are where upstream shortcuts become visible. Design them as contracts and product evolution stops
breaking them.
- Customers as a standing inputCustomer signal as a
standing input, not a research phase.
- Nothing great is built aloneEvery flow worth
shipping had people obsessing over the details and sharing ideas and feedback. I enjoy and crave the
art of collaboration.
